Welcome
Bow Photography ~ An interesting combination of digital photography and pinhole camera work.
Val Horton is based in the beautiful Galloway region in South West Scotland and enjoys the contrast between tranquil Galloway and trips to Europe and the other side of the world. She currently offers her images in a range of sizes and also as blank A5 and A6 greetings cards. Please feel free to contact her about anything you see in the galleries, or anything you don't see for that matter.
Described as exceptionally user-friendly, Val welcomes commissions in respect of: Event Photography, Portraits, Commercial, Fine Art, Landscapes, Pet Photography, and Party-Plan Portraits.
Over the last few years Val has been delighted to be appointed official photographer to the Galloway Garden Festival in 2006 and the Creetown Country Music Festival from 2005-2007, and has undertaken commissions for the Forestry Commission, the Newton Stewart Walking Festival 2007, and has taken part in the Whithorn Medieval Fayre (as a Snappe Shotte Syster), as well as being delighted to be official photographer at the first Rowan Glen Challenge race on 1st June at Kirroughtree Visitor Centre in the Galloway Forest Park. She has also provided commercial images for Ferry Fish, Carsegowan Ice Cream, and CJ International, as well as local textile artist Linda Woodfield.
Her work has been exhibited at the Green Room of the Ryan Theatre in Stranraer, the Ninian Gallery in Whithorn, the Cat's Moustache Gallery in Creetown, Artistas Restaurant at the Selkirk Arms in Kirkcudbright, and the Cafe Bar at Gracefield Arts Centre.
She gained an HND in Photography in 2007, despite being older than the lecturers.
Update: The new cards are starting to appear, and Val is currently working on a photographic book about the Raiders' Road which runs from near Clatteringshaws Loch to Mossdale. That should take up most of this year.
